LRC's 17th Annual Conference

NEW GIZA 

UNIVERSITY

The 17th Educational Conference, Providing for Diverse Learners  is a joint effort between the Learning Resource Center (LRC), the School of Medicine of New Giza University (NGU), and the Egyptian ADVANCE Society for Persons with Disabilities (a non-for-profit), which will take place in Cairo, Egypt on the 28thof March 2020, and is hosted by the NGU at their New Giza premises.

Providing for Diverse Learners aims to provide an opportunity for experts to share and disseminate ideas, research findings, academic and field-level experiences about education from different perspectives. During this intensive day, you will have the opportunity to meet more than 400 participants from diverse perspectives in the field of education, which will promote your interaction with prominent specialists and greatly expand on your network of professionals.

 

Objectives of the Conference

  • To raise awareness of Inclusive Education among stake holders, policy makers and the general public as an inclusive approach to education.

  • To share and promote innovative and best practices in inclusive education.

  • To introduce Inclusive educators to tools and strategies that support and widen students’ participation.

 

Expected Outcomes of the Conference

  • Improve access of children with disabilities to curriculum and participation learning and play activities.

  • Change the attitude of teachers towards teaching children with disabilities as members of the learning groups inside and outside the school.

  • Promote best practices.

 

Targeted Audience

The Conference is an opportunity to keep abreast of what is happening in inclusive education research, teacher training, and to explore current issues for developing inclusive education in nurseries, schools and universities.  The Conference targets educators, special educators, therapists, social workers, psychologists, physicians, teachers, parents, researchers, professionals, educational leaders, policy makers … etc.  The official languages of the conference are English and Arabic. Attendance of more than 400 participants is expected. There will be 15 English lectures and 6 Arabic lectures, 6 lectures running parallel at a time.
